Winston-Salem Breaks Through for First Win in Round 1; Now Trails 2-1
The Winston-Salem Dash have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Myrtle Beach Pelicans, winning 5-1 at New Winston-Salem Ballpark today. Dash left-hander Patrick Wischusen threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Dash to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Luis Toribio chipped in for Winston-Salem with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.

Toribio called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at New Winston-Salem Ballpark in Winston-Salem.
