Lakeland Breaks Through for First Win in Championship; Now Trails 3-1
Already down in the Championship, the Lakeland Flying Tigers put on their best show, beating the St. Lucie Mets by a final score of 2-1 today. Ryan Lane was special. He threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. Lakeland now trails St. Lucie 3-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Lakeland trailing 1-0, Jeremy Trussell hit a fastball from Charley Schumer to left-center for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Flying Tigers had a walk-off win.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Trussell told the Lakeland Gazette.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at JetBlue Park at Fenway South in Lakeland.
