Shanley Blasts Cardinals, Blue Jays Take Game 3, 9-6
The Bluefield Blue Jays have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Johnson City Cardinals, winning 9-6 at Howard Johnson Field today. Blue Jays left fielder Ryan Shanley hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The win cuts the deficit facing the Blue Jays to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Championship.

It could have been a different outcome for Bluefield, had it not been for Gabriel Cook, the 22-year old first baseman . Cook contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Bluefield up, 7-6.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Cook. "And not try to do too much."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Howard Johnson Field in Johnson City.
