Mills Blasts 66ers, Nuts Take Game 2, 6-4
|
Modesto designated hitter Stanley Mills was the difference-maker for the Nuts in what turned into a shootout with the Inland Empire 66ers. Mills earned accolades after going 3-for-4 in the 6-4 Nuts win. With the victory, the Nuts moved into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Mills contributed in the bottom of the third. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Modesto get the win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Mills told the Modesto News.
Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Arrowhead Credit Union Park in San Bernardino.
