Nick Thwaits and the Dunedin Blue Jays opened the Round 2 in brilliant fashion today, shutting out the visiting Port Charlotte Rays at Bobby Mattick Training Center
at Englebert Complex 4-0 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Thwaits, the Blue Jays right-hander, threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball.

Thwaits was in the zone all game. He frustrated Port Charlotte hitters while giving the Blue Jays 8 innings of quality work. Thwaits threw 98 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 7 punchouts.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Thwaits told the Dunedin Observer.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bobby Mattick Training Center
at Englebert Complex in Dunedin.
