Port Charlotte Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2
|
The Port Charlotte Rays have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Dunedin Blue Jays, winning 3-2 at Charlotte Sports Park today. Rays left fielder Reed Trimble was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. The win cuts the deficit facing the Rays to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Round 2.
Jesus Galiz aided the Port Charlotte cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 4.
"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Trimble said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."
The next game is set to be played for Sunday, October 15th , 2023 at Bobby Mattick Training Center
at Englebert Complex in Dunedin.
