8-2 Loss Extends Portland Losing Streak
Binghamton first baseman Rubén Mendoza helped his team beat the Portland Sea Dogs, 8-2. Mendoza went 1 for 3 for the Rumble Ponies. Binghamton starter Tyler Owens was credited with the win after throwing 99 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. Matt Rogers closed the door for Binghamton, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Binghamton took a 7-2 lead on Mendoza's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Robert LeClair in the bottom of the eighth, propelled Binghamton to the win.

Mendoza expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."

Portland is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
