Despite a fine performance by shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., the Tampa Bay Rays lost to the Minnesota Twins, 3-2. Witt Jr. hit 2 home runs. Julián Rivera recorded the save, making him 2 for 3. The American League Central-leading Twins are 92-54.

Minnesota took a 3-2 lead on Jordon Adell's 23rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Tampa Bay pitcher Jeffrey Starks in the bottom of the eighth.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Minnesota manager Suezo Kamida.
