Nationals Win at Miami, 4-3

Conditions were not ideal but Washington and Miami were able to put their game in the books.
The Miami Marlins got a sterling performance from pitcher Landon Marceaux, but the Washington Nationals still prevailed, 4-3. Marceaux threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Washington reliever Jack Little picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Kade Renfro was saddled with the loss. Chris Roach was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 6 save opportunities.
Washington used a clutch hit from Augusto Candelalia to get the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Nationals ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Washington manager Damon Berryhill. "It's usually not just one thing."
The win puts Washington at 56-91.
