Twins Sneak Past White Sox, 2-1

The Minnesota Twins topped the Chicago White Sox, 2-1, in American League action at Guaranteed Rate Field. The standout performance belonged to Minnesota pitcher and Ellicott City, Maryland, native Brandon Dixon. Jimmy Bannatyne notched his 46th save in 52 chances. Minnesota leads the American League Central by 18½ games.
Minnesota used the clutch hitting of Dave Reilly to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Twins ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Minnesota manager Suezo Kamida.
