White Sox Solve Athletics, 6-4
|
The Chicago White Sox downed the Oakland Athletics, 6-4, at O.co Coliseum. The White Sox were led by Lance Hartgraves, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Sonny Gray got credit for the win, improving to 5-0. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. Tanner Scheppers, credited with the save, is now 12 for 12 in save opportunities.
Hartgraves had a key at-bat for Chicago early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Chicago an early 3-1 lead.
"Lance is still learning," said White Sox manager Brian Snitker. "The sky's the limit for him."
