McKay Shines in 8-5 Charlotte Win
The Charlotte Knights knocked off the Indianapolis Indians, 8-5, at Victory Field. Brendan McKay was a big reason Charlotte won. The first baseman was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Eric Wilson snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit. He's now 1-0 on the season. The Knights saw their win-loss record go to 18-23. At the same time, the Indians fell to 18-23.

McKay had a timely hit for Charlotte in the top of the seventh. With Indianapolis trailing 5-3, he turned a full count fastball into a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 7-5, Charlotte.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said McKay.
