Indianapolis got a decent performance from pitcher Drew Nembhard, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toledo Mud Hens. Toledo won the Victory Field contest, 3-1. Nembhard threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The winner in relief was Lou Carlson. He is now 5-3. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Andrew Burke earned his 5th save in 6 chances.
Davis Wendzel, the 26-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Wendzel contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Toledo up, 2-1.
"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Wendzel said.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Mud Hens.
