The Rochester Red Wings faced a tough opponent in Charlotte pitcher Joey Wentz, but did just enough to pull out the victory at BB&T Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Wentz went 5.1 innings and allowed 4 runs. With this game in the books, Rochester is 55-61, Charlotte 59-57.
Rochester used the bat of Jake Edmonds to capture the win. The center fielder jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Red Wings ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
Edmonds told a Rochester News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
