Red Wings Roll Over IronPigs, 9-1
|
Rochester designated hitter Tate Hallock contributed to his team's 9-1 win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. Hallock, who is tied for 8th in the IL with a .359 on-base percentage, went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Red Wings. Rochester starter José Pérez was credited with the win after throwing 95 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 10-4. Rochester is now riding a 3-game win streak.
In the top of the seventh, Stephen Lowry stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The IronPigs were trailing 5-1, but had the bases loaded. That's when Ronnie Kandilas made a terrific pitch and Lowry lined out. Gone was the dream of a Lehigh Valley comeback.
