Fernando Zapata was instrumental in his team's 5-4 triumph over the Syracuse Chiefs. The center fielder went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Scranton WB RailRiders. Scranton WB reliever Rich Kennedy picked up the win, while Manolo Barrón took the loss for Syracuse. The 4th-place RailRiders are now 62-76, the Chiefs 62-76.
Scranton WB won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Manolo Barrón on the mound for Syracuse, catcher Rudy Bullock hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing RailRiders fans to their feet.
