Pawtucket right-hander Michael Torretta helped his team edge Lehigh Valley by the score of 3-2. Torretta kept the opposing lineup in check. Esteban Vázquez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-3. Alonso Sánchez was tagged with the loss. The losing skid has reached 7 games for Lehigh Valley.

Had Chris Hawkins not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hawkins hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Red Sox.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Lehigh Valley skipper Juan Bustabad.
