Red Sox Top Chiefs in Extras, 7-4
|
The Pawtucket Red Sox topped the Syracuse Chiefs by the score of 7-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Kevin Hunter. Hunter was 3-6 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Red Sox on the day. Reliever Paul Richan picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Brad Smith took the loss. Pawtucket now sits in second place in the North at 70-74.
Hunter had a game-changing home run in the top of the 14th. On a 1-1 cutter from Brad Smith, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Red Sox a 7-4 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Hunter.
"I like our resilience," said Hunter.
