Clippers Jolt Mud Hens, 3-2, with Late Rally
|
The Toledo Mud Hens got a sterling performance from pitcher Parker Happenny, but the Columbus Clippers still prevailed, 3-2. Happenny threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Columbus reliever Vincent Lambert picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Weston Shuster was saddled with the loss. The win elevated the Clippers to 75-69.
Columbus used the timely hitting of Mathew Campbell to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Clippers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Campbell told the Columbus Today.
