The home crowd had a good time watching the Round Rock Express and Sacramento River Cats get after it.
Sacramento starter Ty Griffin put a stranglehold on the Round Rock offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the River Cats to a 4-1 win. Griffin, now 3-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. J.T. Ginn earned the save for Sacramento, his 8th.
Cole Roederer had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fifth for Sacramento. With the bases loaded and the River Cats leading 2-1, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
Roederer told a Sacramento Daily News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
Sacramento has now won 3 in a row.
