Toledo third baseman Mike Nixon played a vital role in his team's 12-2 triumph over Indianapolis. He went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 6 runs and scored once for Toledo. The winning pitcher was John McGuire. His record is now 4-0. The right-hander went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits for the Mud Hens. The loss drops the Indians to 9-13.

Nixon had a key at-bat for Toledo early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and gave Toledo an early 4-0 lead.
