Bees Come Up Short at Sacramento, 6-5
|
Luken Baker did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Salt Lake Bees from losing, 6-5, to the Sacramento River Cats at Raley Field. Baker was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Earning his 29th save for Sacramento was Max Johnson. Sacramento leads the Pacific Conference North by 10½ games.
In the bottom of the sixth, Jon Payton delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Sacramento right fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the River Cats in front, 6-5.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Sacramento manager Mike Jirschele.
