Gwinnett Hot Streak Continues with 7-3 Win
|
Gwinnett third baseman Jake Fromm made his presence felt in the 7-3 Stripers triumph over the Columbus Clippers. Fromm went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Carter Parker picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 4-1. Gwinnett goes to 18-10 with the win.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for CJ Alexander? The Gwinnett first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Stripers on top, 2-0. For the game, Alexander had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Gwinnett manager Alfredo Simon.
