Ruíz Delivers Walk-Off Win for Red Sox
The Salem Red Sox turned back the Lynchburg Hillcats, 4-3, at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium. Isaiah Greene, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. Pete Compton, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The loss lowers the Lynchburg record to 1-1.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Salem third baseman Javier Ruíz, facing Gary Dale, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Red Sox the 4-3 win.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Greene told the Salem Times.
