Generals Win, 4-3, at Pensacola
|
The Jackson Generals took Pensacola pitcher Daniel Espino's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium. The final score had Jackson getting past the Blue Wahoos, 4-3. Espino went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 7. Trent Stevenson got credit for the save for Jackson. It was his 5th of the year. With the win, Jackson pushed its record to 18-18.
Had Nick Castellanos not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Castellanos hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Generals.
"We did a lot of things right," said Castellanos.
