Crawdads Win, 5-2, Versus GreenJackets

The Augusta GreenJackets got a superb performance from pitcher Andrew Adams. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Hickory. The Crawdads won the game, 5-2. Adams threw 5.1 innings allowing 3 runs. Pat Williams earned the save for Hickory, his 3rd. The Crawdads, now 11-3, have played inspired baseball.
The Crawdads got a big at-bat from third baseman Gregg Mathews. For the game, Mathews was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Hickory a 2-1 lead.
Mathews attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
