Generals Pull Even With 4-2 Victory

Jackson Generals starter Tommy Mace turned in a top-notch performance against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at The Ballpark at Jackson. The result was a win for the Generals, 4-2. Sam Smith was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 9 save opportunities. With the win, the Generals have a record of 34-34.
Mike Beckwith, who is tied for 3rd in the SL with a .303 batting average, chipped in for Jackson with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
