7 Straight Wins for Braves

MGM Park was the site of a competitive game between the Biloxi Shuckers and Mississippi Braves.
Mississippi Braves starter Pedro Jiménez hurled his team past the Biloxi Shuckers, 4-2. Cam Cowan came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Nonie Williams's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With one out, the Mississippi shortstop drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Biloxi skipper Joe Mikulik, "and it cost us."
Mississippi has now won 7 straight.
