The Generals grabbed a win, 4-3, at The Ballpark at Jackson, overcoming a fine effort from Biloxi pitcher Bruce O'Slattery. O'Slattery went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Jackson reliever Colin Peluse got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Chris Machammer was tagged with the loss. Jackson is in third place in the North with a record of 40-38.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 3-3, right fielder Canaan Smith-Njigba won it for Jackson. With the bases loaded, Smith-Njigba hit a 1-0 changeup from Chris Machammer for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 4-3 win.

"I try to not think too much," said Smith-Njigba.
