Williams Helps Jackson Cruise to 11-3 Win
|
Jackson right fielder Benjamin Williams helped his team beat the Mobile BayBears, 11-3. Williams, who is tied for 4th in the SL in bases on balls with 37, went 2 for 4 for the Generals. Shane Panzini, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-0. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 2. Mario Elías finished the game for Jackson and earned his 1st save.
Ryan Grady, the 23-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Grady contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Jackson up, 4-2.
"We came out aggressive," said Generals manager Jayson King. "We came out swinging the bats."
