Posey Helps Reds Beat Nationals, 6-3
|
A 4-RBI performance from catcher Buster Posey, who finished 2nd in the NL in triples with 7 in 2015, led the Cincinnati Reds to a win over the Washington Nationals, 6-3. The winner was Cincinnati reliever Jake Eder, now 1-0. The loser was Ethan Reed. Stan Lee earned the save, his 1st, for the Reds.
Early in the game, Posey had a 3-run home run for Cincinnati. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Reds on top, 3-0.
"Good to get a win," said Posey, "but it's a long season."
Washington falls to 1-2.
