Montgomery Gets 5-3 Win
|
Mississippi got a terrific game from designated hitter Matt Wallner. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Montgomery, 5-3. Wallner went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. The winner in relief was RJ Dabovich. He is now 2-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Jacolby Criswell notched his 5th save in 8 chances.
Montgomery used the timely hitting of Spencer Brasch to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Biscuits on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Brasch. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Biscuits sit in third place in the North with a record of 48-51.
