Drillers Win Thriller, 7-6
|
The Tulsa Drillers took Springfield pitcher J.D. Neeleman's best shot and still were able to claim a win at ONEOK Field. The final score had Tulsa getting past the Cardinals, 7-6. Neeleman went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 6. Tulsa reliever Ralph Norman was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Bailey Hockman. The win has Tulsa at 3-3.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Tulsa shortstop Jacob Ratzlaff, facing Bailey Hockman, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Drillers the 7-6 win.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Ratzlaff told the Tulsa Daily.
