Power Win, 6-5, at Hickory

Fans watched the West Virginia Power and the Hickory Crawdads fight to the finish.
The West Virginia Power topped the Hickory Crawdads by the score of 6-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Ryan Martin. Martin went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Power on the day. The winning pitcher was Benjamin Schaller. He tossed 77 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. Wyatt Olds recorded the save for West Virginia, his 8th of the season.
With West Virginia leading 3-2 in the top of the third, Martin hit a slider from Ryan Bruno for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Power ahead, 5-2.
"We ground out the win," said Martin. "That's all that matters."
The win has West Virginia at 14-11.
