Amarillo Sod Poodles starter Burton Adams pitched a strong game against the Midland RockHounds at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium, leading the Sod Poodles to victory, 5-4. Amarillo reliever John Johnson picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. AJ Townsend took the loss. The win leaves Amarillo with a record of 11-7.

Henry Davis hit a run-scoring triple off AJ Townsend in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Sod Poodles in front, 5-4. In addition to the triple, Davis had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.

"If we keep winning the close games," Davis said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
