RockHounds Get One-Run Win at Corpus Christi
Whataburger Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Midland RockHounds and Corpus Christi Hooks.

The Midland RockHounds bested the Corpus Christi Hooks, 9-8, at Whataburger Field. Tae-hyeon Park was one of the standouts. He went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Midland pitcher Zach Thomas got the win. He's now 1-0. Taylor Staal was tagged with the loss.

Midland used the timely hitting of Jonathan Arnold to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the RockHounds on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Midland manager Dave Berg.

The RockHounds, now 17-8, have been on a roll in the early going.
