Midland picked up a win at Security Bank Ballpark, toppling the Corpus Christi Hooks, 5-4. Pitcher Tyler Brennan was one of the reasons the RockHounds triumphed. The third-place RockHounds are 15-16.

The RockHounds got a big at-bat from third baseman Brooks LeConte. For the game, LeConte went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Midland a 2-1 lead.

Brennan expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
