The Amarillo Sod Poodles downed the Corpus Christi Hooks, 13-1, at Whataburger Field. Eugene Adams led the way, going 2-for-4 for Amarillo. The win has Amarillo at 8-27.

Allen Metkovich, the 24-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Metkovich contributed a bases-clearing triple in the top of the fourth inning to put Amarillo up, 5-0.

Corpus Christi manager Preston Mattingly was on the defensive afterward. "You can go back and make us look as bad as you want to," he told a reporter, "and then I can throw more numbers at you and make us look better."
