Díaz Helps Delmarva Cruise to 14-1 Win
The Delmarva Shorebirds pounded the Lexington Legends, 14-1, at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Delmarva designated hitter Santiago Díaz had a game-changing performance. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Cody Bradford, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7 and walking 1. With the win, Delmarva raised its record to 19-10.

Jake McCarthy dealt the Legends a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with a runner on 1st and Delmarva leading 1-0, McCarthy hit a 0-2 fastball for a 2-run home run.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," McCarthy told the Delmarva Citizen. "It's as simple as that."
