The Amarillo Sod Poodles trumped the Corpus Christi Hooks, 10-6, at Whataburger Field. Amarillo center fielder Matt Meeks was terrific. He went 3 for 7 with 3 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Johnny Middleton earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 2-0. The Sod Poodles sport a record of 32-47.

Amarillo used the timely hitting of Bo Nix to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Sod Poodles on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We played hard and won," said Meeks. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
