The Tulsa Drillers extended their winning streak.
Behind a fine performance from Vincente Elías, the Tulsa Drillers knocked off the Amarillo Sod Poodles, 6-5. Elías was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk for the Drillers. Aaron Clark closed the game out for Tulsa, earning his 7th save.
Had Carson Taylor not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Taylor hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Drillers.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Taylor. "And not try to do too much."
The winning streak has now reached 6 games for Tulsa.
