In a high-scoring contest between Bakersfield and San Jose, right fielder Braylen Wimmer was a difference-maker. Wimmer distinguished himself in the 9-8 Bakersfield win. He went 2-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI. The winner was Pancho Palácias in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Bryan Woodard took the loss. San Jose now is 13-8.

Max Rice won the game for Bakersfield when homered off Bryan Woodard in the bottom of the 15th.
