A good performance from left fielder Jay Rivera helped the Bakersfield Blaze defeat the Lake Elsinore Storm, 10-3. Rivera went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Blaze. Lowell Dunmire came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. With the win, Bakersfield goes to 22-28, while the Storm fall to 27-23.
Frank Taylor, who is tied for 4th in the CAL in triples with 3, chipped in for Bakersfield with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
