Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Mavericks
The High Desert Mavericks defeated the Bakersfield Blaze, 8-4, at BB&T Coastal Field today. Leading the charge for High Desert was left fielder Mark Harris. He was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. High Desert reliever Wes Anderson was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Soichiro Chikafuji. The South-leading Mavericks are 42-24.

Brian Burns was the walk-off hero for High Desert. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mavericks catcher hit a dramatic grand slam home run to send the teams home.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Burns.
