The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Trey Williams came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing San Jose pitcher Will Bednar, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting High Desert on top, 3-2.

"We did enough to win," said Williams.
