The Giants grabbed a win, 8-4, at Clear Channel Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Lancaster pitcher Gary Reed. Reed went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs. David McMichael came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The triumph puts San Jose at 67-48 for the season.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Matt Imbert came to bat in the top of the 13th. Facing Lancaster pitcher Sam Bachman, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting San Jose on top, 5-4.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said San Jose manager Chris Tracz.
