JetHawks Stick Quakes with 2-0 Loss
|
In a low-scoring game between the Lancaster JetHawks and the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, pitcher Tim Pruitt was masterful on the mound. The Lancaster right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-0 win. Lancaster pitcher Dirk Rose got the win. He's now 6-7. Fred Stephens was tagged with the loss. Landon Knack got credit for the save for Lancaster. It was his 9th of the year.
Had Caleb Ward not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Ward hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the JetHawks.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Ward.
The JetHawks now have a mark of 51-67.
