Starting pitcher Michael Sasse was a major factor in the 1-0 High Desert Mavericks triumph over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Pete Smith, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save. This win makes it 7 in a row for High Desert.
Early in the game, designated hitter Robert Heere had a run-scoring double for High Desert. It was his 26th double of the season and put the Mavericks on top, 1-0.
