The Salem Red Sox got a superb performance from pitcher Dylan Lesko. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Winston-Salem. The Dash won the game, 6-5. Lesko threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 runs. Winston-Salem reliever Josh Davis picked up the win, raising his record to 3-1. Bryce Elder was tagged with the loss. The save went to Vicente Vargo, his 3rd this season.

Winston-Salem relied on the hitting of Andrew Payne to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dash on top, 6-5. For the game, Payne had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Payne said.

The victory gives Winston-Salem a record of 60-47.
