Lynchburg and Wilmington duked it out and the Hillcats came out victorious.
Donnie Black helped his team muscle past the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 6-3. In the game, the Lynchburg first baseman was 3-4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Lynchburg reliever Will Proctor picked up the win, upping his record to 8-7. Kevin Stone took the loss.
Black had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 splitter from Kevin Stone, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Hillcats a 4-3 lead. It was the 26th double of the year for Black.
"Nice win for us," said Black. "Now we'll go after the next one."
Lynchburg goes to 70-47. The win puts them 7 games up in their division.
